How do I move, equip, and use items in my bag?
You can drag items to switch between basic slots, gear slots, and tool slots.
Items in the basic slots can be used directly or switched to handheld, which is an important skill you can use to resupply yourself in another form. Don't forget to sort the items in your bag when you are safe.
TABOpen Bag (default key)
What if my bag is full?
Clear low-value materials or return to the camp to sort your supplies.
You should carry tools, essential food, and basic materials with you. As for other items, bring them back to the settlement, keep them somewhere safe in the wild, or directly destroy them as soon as possible. This planet has devoured its fair share of civilisations, but it will never take the quest items you leave on the ground. If you don't want to lose your items, leave them in the wild and return for them next time.
How do I use the map after getting it?
You found a map. Don't forget to use it in the bag to extract the coordinates.
Even if you haven't been there, the destination will be marked on the map. It's up to you whether to hike there.

This portal is installed with a special detector that doesn't allow the passage of anything in human form. You need to transform first.

How do I use a transformizer?
Use it to change into a specific monster and gain access to its skill.

What are the differences between Food, HP, and Spirit?
Food, HP, and Spirit are the most basic stats.
Food decreases over time, and swinging tools or weapons and dashing speeds up its loss. You can consume most food to effectively restore its value. HP determines whether you can continue exploring. You fall in the wild at 0 HP and wakes up at the last respawn point set. Food, potions, and items can restore certain amounts of HP, and you can produce them accordingly. Spirit is a special talent that activates Spirit weapons and regenerates naturally over time.
How do I recover when low on HP?
You cannot survive another mistake. Find a safe place to recover soon.
Leave battle and find a safe place to heal when you are low on HP. Cooked food heals you slowly over time, and meat and dairy products are better choices. For immediate treatment, you can use potions and bandages. Please note that starvation can lower your max HP, but you are not injured and can recover once you've eaten.
Related items & tools
Why does max HP drop when I'm hungry?
All your physical functions start to deteriorate.
Hunger is very dangerous, as it continuously lowers your max HP until it becomes life-threatening. Also, your attacks and material gathering will be restricted. So, don't play tough, and eat as soon as possible. Easy-to-cook carbohydrates are your optimal choices in the early game.
What if I run out of Spirit?
You won't be able to use your Spirit weapon soon. Switch to another weapon for emergency use while Spirit regenerates.
When you are no longer using Spirit, it will regenerate by 10% per second. The blue glowing mushrooms in caves can speed up its regeneration.
Locations
What do Spirit weapons consume?
You are using a spiritual weapon! Each activation costs an amount of Spirit.
You regain 10% Spirit per second and can use the blue fungi in caves to speed it up, but the fungi are not unlimited supplies. The safer way is to increase your Max Spirit.
Locations
Can tools replace weapons?
Weapons deal higher damage than simple tools. You will be stronger with a wooden stick in the bag.
Check if there is a more suitable weapon in the bag, and remember to switch to it before battle. To survive, you will at least need to know how to craft a bow and arrow and a wooden stick. You will find more weapon recipes at the crafting table.
Related items & tools
What should I switch to when I encounter enemies?
Danger! Switch to a weapon now. It's stronger than a tool in battle.
You can make a crafting table or explore chests in the wild to find various weapons. Choose a combat style that works best for you — there's more than one way to survival.
Related items & tools
How are monsters with a star above their head different?
Creatures marked with star symbols are extremely dangerous! Sometimes flee is the smartest choice.
Star-marked monsters are far more dangerous than common creatures. However, you can still take them down once you study their movement pattern and find a weapon that works best on them. You can use a bow and arrow or a boomerang to attack from a safe distance and decide whether to engage after taking a good look.
Why do I still go down easily even in armor?
Armor reduces damage you take, but is not substitute for treatment.
Before each battle, check if you have enough food or items for healing in the bag.
Where do I craft armor?
It is extremely dangerous to not wear armor! Craft a basic set of armor at the crafting table.
Armor not only reduces damage you take, but also grants various effects based on its material. Equipping pieces of the same armor set also activates its set bonus. On this planet, you can find all kinds of materials and even armor pieces. Put together several armor loadouts in the bag to prepare for various scenarios in your adventure and perfectly show your survival wisdom.

Where do I find my bag after I go down?
Don't worry. Your bag is still where you left it.
Open the map and look for a monument-shaped marker — it's where you left your belongings. You can always change your respawn point with a bed.
What do monsters drop?
Monsters drop random materials, and the most common creatures can sometimes drop rare materials.
You can acquire not only meat but also crafting materials from hunting. Star-marked creatures drop rarer materials, but are also far more dangerous.
Where do I spend skill points?
Use Skill Points to enhance your abilities.
You can open the Skill Academy terminal and exchange Skill Points for abilities you need. It's up to you whether to specialize in one expertise or allocate the points evenly — both approaches have their pros and cons.

Exploration & life
Make good use of Campfires. Cook your ingredients to maximize their effects.
If you're short on coins, talk to Rohen. He's always got a way for you to make some cash—that usually involves you hunting down gemstones for him.
Talk to wanderers if you'd like them to settle. You might have to do a favor or two for them first, however. Like catching butterflies!
Most wanderers are happy to trade with you, but they're all after different things. Talk to them, and maybe you'll turn the trash in your bag into shiny coins!
Wooden Bridges come in handy—not only to cross a river, but to build a way home when you're lost.
HP Recovery Tip: Cook up rabbit meat or eggs if you've got a moment to spare. They're useful to help you recover HP in a pinch.
Your bag and all its items remain at the spot you faint if out in the wilds. You'll need to return and pick them back up once you come to.
Trinkets grant wonderful buffs. For example, Flower Mask restores your HP if you have enough Food.
HP Recovery Tip: Feed non-hostile animals to get their items, like eggs. Once cooked well, they're just as good as meat!
Rarer ores make for tougher weapons, giving you the edge in battle—and you'll look a lot cooler too.
Just about every inch of the world around you can be customized. Don't forget to add your own touch to it!
You can dig dirt walls and place the dirt in water to turn it into ground. You'll need a pickaxe, and a fair bit of creativity too.
Prefer toggle sprint? You can change this in Settings.
You can use the Recall Device to quickly return to your RV.
Found a giant ore that you just can't crack? Try the power drill.
Tired of being human? You can transform into animals and monsters of all kinds. Explore the world around you, and find transformation recipes!
Transforming into a monster grants you use of their special skills.
Some hidden areas are only accessible to smaller monsters.
Pickaxes can also be used to demolish buildings, if they're made of tough enough materials, that is.
Put a workstation or building in the wrong spot? Just break it back down with a pickaxe or hammer.
The Starport closes every other day.
Low on Star Credits? Try looking for Worm Pearls in temples.
Fancy dozing off until sunrise the next day? Wait till the sun sets first.
Sleeping until the next day can be a boon—a new wanderer will come to your world, and nocturnal monsters will have gone, by the time you wake.
There isn't much to do on gap days. Why not take a walk in the wild? You may just come across something unexpected.
Be careful if you're holding food out in the wild. Some animals will try and steal it if you draw too close. Well-fed animals, on the other hand, may have surprises for you.
Mushrooms are the true rulers of this world. Don't believe it? Try taking a bite.
Small bombs are surprisingly destructive. Once their countdown begins, run!
If a monster's too powerful for you, try taking it on with a bow and arrow instead.
Most fruits and crops are edible and refill your Food.
Enemies too strong? Flee, and sprint if you need to.
You'll automatically nock arrows for your bow, as long as there's some in your bag.
Use the Mainframe to download blueprints and print buildings. You can talk to wanderers to unlock new blueprints.
Adventuring to distant lands? Build a wooden bed and sleep in it to set it as your respawn point.
Sleep isn't strictly necessary, but it helps you avoid dangerous nocturnal creatures.
You can't sleep while enemies are nearby. Make sure you're safe first!
The night is long. So build a bed, make some food, or explore the world by night.
Starving? You can grill some grass and turf in a pinch, but it's not good for your health.
Try giving those one-eyed flowers a pat. They'll blow you away.
Equip matching trinkets and gear for extra effects, and a stylish look.
Taming Tip: Lure non-hostile animals home with their favorite snacks—or if that fails, try shooing them there with a broom!
Want to harvest crops faster? A copper hoe can harvest four tiles at once. Transform into Mousey-Mouse and chomp through an entire row.
Want to paint furniture? Besides crafting Spray Cans, you can use a Blackbird's rainbow spit to cycle through colors.
Dark World
